| Dreamland: |
|
Area 51 also known as 'Dreamland'. Is situated at Groom Lake, just outside the small desert town of Rachel, Nevada, USA. This is a place which has become a mecca for Ufologists and tourists alike. Over the years the U.S government has slowing bought up the surrounding area to stop the curious sightseers trying to catch a glimpse of what goes on there.
For years, bizarre lights in the night sky have buzzed around performing impossible breathtaking manoeuvres. Looping the loop, and stopping dead without any form of deceleration. Also, these same strange light seem to have the ability to change in size and brightness, sometimes even disappearing completely, then reappearing at will. The entire base is surrounded by state of the art surveillance equipment, motion sensors, and patrolled by security guards in unmarked four wheel drive jeeps. The border perimeter signs which state 'use of deadly force authorised'. Within 30 seconds of crossing these signs you would be arrested and could be fined up to a $1,000 and spend a night in jail. If you were to continue any further you would be legally shot and killed. A lot of people believe this is the site where the crashed saucers from the Roswell Incident are kept for back engineering. This is the term used when they try and work out how the craft was build and how it is powered. Then once this has been accomplished they then try and incorporate it into their own designs. Knowone knows more about this than Bob Lazar, who claims he worked at Area51 in a section of the base called S-4 from 1988-1990. His claims have made him world famous among the field of Ufology. He says he worked on nine different saucers while at the base. These disks were housed in huge hangers build into the mountain side. Lazar also stated that his life was in danger after he took some friends to watch the test flights on the craft he worked on. He claims that on one such trip he was caught by security and immediately taking to the base and threatened before being able to leave. Believing his life to be in grave danger he spoke out about his experiences, thinking that the government would never have the nerve to kill him if he went public. And any mysterious accidents he might have would only validate his claims. Area51 is also the place with the worlds longest runway at 6 miles, with regular flights from Las Vagas every day bringing employees to work. |

| The small town of Rachel, Nevada: |
|
The small desert town of Rachel has become a great spot for tourists wanting to see a UFO and catch a glimpse of the mysterious airbase. The town is located in Sand Spring Valley, in the southern Nevada high desert, with the worlds only Extraterrestrial Highway, aka - Nevada State Highway 375. It is located about 115 miles northwest of Las Vegas, separated from it by the restricted area around the Nellis test Ranges, and about 27 miles north of the top secret Air Force Base Area 51.
Rachel was founded in May of 1973 by D.C.Day, who owned an alfalfa farm in the valley. The town was first called Tempiute Village, then Sand Springs. Later, when the population grew thanks to the reopening of the nearby tungsten mine in Tempiute Mountain, it was named Rachel after Rachel Jones, the first baby born in the valley. This is remembered each May on Rachel Day with a parade. Local businesses in Rachel include the world famous Little A'Le'Inn Restaurant and Bar, the Quik Pik Mini Mart, a gas station (regular unleaded only) and small convenience store that carries the most essential items. The Area 51 Research Centre, a small UFO souvenir shop, was closed in fall of 2001. There is a public phone outside the Little A'Le'Inn, but you need a calling card to use it. |

| Extraterrestrial Highway: |
|
On April 18 1996, Governor Bob Miller officially dedicated Nevada State Highway 375 the Extraterrestrial Highway because of the many UFO sightings along this lonely stretch of road. The highway is close to the mysterious Area 51, a top secret Air Force base.
Nevada, already well known by UFO fans as one of the most visited sites in the United States. This particular highway one of the more deserted areas in the country, stretches approximately 100 miles through Lincoln and Nye counties 140 miles north of Las Vegas, stretching from US-93 in the southeast to US-6 in the northwest. It crosses three large high desert valleys in south central Nevada: Tikaboo Valley, Sand Spring Valley, and Railroad Valley. Except for a couple of ranches. The town of Rachel is the only settlement along the way. And in the 1980's and 1990's there have been many sightings of UFO's near the military base. Even today visitors and locals alike often see strange lights in the night-sky while driving down the highway. |

| Papoose Lake - S4: |
|
In May of 1989 a scientist going by the alias of "Dennis", who's real name was Robert Lazar appeared on a Las Vegas TV show to speak about a top secret research base where he had once worked housing alien craft.
S4 is an underground research station carved into the base of the Papoose Mountain, near Papoose Lake. It contains a laboratory including nine hangars. The hangar doors are built on an angle matching the slope of Papoose Mountain. These doors are covered with a special sand textured coating to blend in with the surrounding desert and host mountain. This was specifically designed to camouflage the base from Russian spy satellites. The research station S4 is 15 miles south of the main Groom Lake Facility (Area 51). It's exact position according to Bob Lazar is as follows - 37 degrees of 01`40 "north and 115 degrees of 46`35" western width. The S4 base is housed completely underground. 22 scientists in total work at S4. Everything is worked on in small groups to help control security. Security on the whole is extremely oppressive, with employees encouraged to not engage in casual chitchat. Projects worked on at S4 include the famous "sports model", a typical saucer shaped UFO. Bob Lazar commented on the craft having a height of over 17metres. Lazar came forward about his activities at S4 after threats were made on his life. |

| Tikaboo Peak: |
|
Tikaboo Peak is an 8000-foot mountain over looking the air base. And since White Sides Mountain and Freedom Ridge were seized by the Government the only place left to get a look at Area 51 is Tikaboo. It's 26 miles from the Groom Lake Base and with a good pair of binoculars or telescope or you can get a pretty good look at the base, proving the weather is favourable. The best time is early in the morning, when you have the sun in the back, and there is not too much atmospheric heat distortion.
Be warned! Tikaboo Peak is a very remote and desolate area. And the hike should not be attempted solo if you are inexperienced. There is no water on Tikaboo or anywhere on the way, and you need to take at least one gallon of drinking water per person. Getting to Tikaboo requires a 22-mile off road drive followed by a 2 hour up hill hike. Depending on your level of fitness and how much gear you are carrying. Experienced hikers or people who get regular exercise you should have no trouble. You should be prepared for both hot and cold weather. Temperatures can reach up to the 80s, and the sun can be intense. Remember to tell people where you are going and when to expect you back? Tour guides for Tikaboo Peak can be found in the town of Rachel. |
